Despite slogging my way through my first reading of Paradise Lost, over the course of my degree I seem to have developed a fondness for Milton. His inadvertently sympathetic portrayal of Satan fascinates me, and I cannot help but enjoy the irony of casting the devil himself as a tragic hero. Although I will not be undertaking the mountainous task of re-reading the epic any time soon, the poetry of Milton remains ever on my mind, a constant fount of inspiration and beauty.

Her academic interests are somewhat scattered, ranging from cyberpunk fiction to early modern metatheatre, but she always enjoys reading texts in translation.
