Darkness Visible was composed by members of Christ's College, Cambridge, where Milton studied from 1625 to 1632. It was first commissioned to celebrate the poet's 400th birthday (9 December) in 2008 and revised in 2024 in honour of the 350th anniversary of his death (8 November 1674, also the year Milton's major work Paradise Lost was published). Most of the writers of Darkness Visible are current or past students who themselves have recently trodden the path of initiation into Milton's world. We wish you success with your journey.
